Spices, whole and ground
Around 140 single spices and twelve house blends, sold by weight from 10 g. Whole spices keep for a year; ground ones are best within three months, so we grind little and often.

Each blend follows a card behind the counter: the spices in parts by weight. We toast and grind a small batch twice a week, so no jar on the shelf is older than four days.

Storing spices
How long do spices keep?
Whole seeds, pods and bark keep their flavour for about a year; ground spices for about three months. Every jar we fill carries the grinding date.
Where should I keep them?
Somewhere dark, cool and dry: a cupboard away from the cooker, not a rack above it. Glass or tin with a tight lid.
Can I buy a very small amount?
Yes. The minimum is 10 g, about two tablespoons, so you can try something before you commit to a jar.
Is everything organic?
Most of the range is certified organic and marked so on the shelf and on this site. Where a spice is not, we say why and where it comes from.
Smell it before you buy it
Every jar on the shelf can be opened at the counter. Come in, or send us a list and we put it aside.
