Harvest notes: Block C picked in two mornings

We picked the Syrah in Block C over two cool mornings last week (sample notes). The crop is small after a dry August, but the berries are dark and the skins thick.
Everything went over the sorting table before the tanks, so the leaves and the few raisined bunches stayed in the vineyard.
Harvest weekends continue at the cellar door until the end of October: taste last year’s Syrah and see this year’s fermenting in the barn.
