Spring onions are back on the menu

The first spring onions of the year arrived from Hollow Lane Farm on Tuesday (sample).

We grill them whole until they collapse, then dress them with anchovy butter and toasted crumbs. They replace the hispi cabbage on the small plates until the end of the month.

Ask for them without anchovy if you do not eat fish; the butter is made separately.
