Questions we are asked
About pans, knives, ordering and the shop. If yours is not here, ask us.
Which pan should I buy first?
A 28 cm frying pan in carbon steel or cast iron. It sears, fries and goes in the oven, and it lasts for decades.
How do I know which size I have?
Measure across the base, not the rim. Our sizes are base sizes; the drawing on the cookware page is to scale.
Do your pans work on induction?
Steel, carbon steel and cast iron do. Each item says so on its card.
Can I try a knife before I buy it?
Yes: there is a board and some carrots at the counter for that.
Can I put an item aside?
Yes, for five days. Send the request form or call, and pay when you collect.
Do you buy old cast iron?
Sometimes. Bring it in on a Saturday and we tell you if we can bring it back to life (sample).
Do you deliver?
Within Springfield on Tuesdays and Fridays (sample).
Can I return an item?
Unused items with the receipt within 30 days (sample). Sharpening and seasoning are not refundable.
