Why we take the train between stops

On the Scottish Highlands tour, two of the moves are by train (sample). The West Highland line takes longer than the road, but nobody looks at a phone on the way.
Trains also mean no check-in queues and no luggage limits, and the stations are in the middle of town, a short walk from the hotel.
Where there is no railway we use a minibus with the same driver for the whole tour.
