Extra skin, and sometimes fat, taken from the upper or lower lids. Usually under local anaesthetic, home the same day.
In the upper lid crease, or just under the lower lashes
The deeper tissues of the lower face and neck lifted and the skin redraped. General anaesthetic, one night in.
In front of the ear and into the hairline
The bone and cartilage reshaped to change the size or profile of the nose, or to help breathing.
Inside the nose, or 0.5 cm between the nostrils
Ears that stick out set closer to the head by reshaping the cartilage. Adults only at this clinic.
In the fold behind the ear
Enlargement with implants, uplift, or reduction, each with its own scar pattern.
In the fold under the breast, or around the areola
Loose skin and fat removed from the lower abdomen and the muscles tightened, often after pregnancy or weight loss.
Low across the abdomen, and round the navel
Fat that does not shift with diet and exercise removed through a thin tube. Not a way to lose weight.
Small ports in skin creases
Example prices, including the surgeon, the anaesthetist, the hospital and aftercare. Your written quote follows the first consultation.
Reading the ruler
Surgeons plan an incision with a skin marker and a paper ruler. These are the same marks, explained.
The typical length of the scar, drawn to scale. The short cross-lines are the marks a surgeon draws to line up the skin when closing.
How much longer it can be, for a larger area or more loose skin.
The scar sits in a natural line, such as an eyelid crease, the fold under the breast or the hairline, where it is harder to see.
There is no natural line to hide it in, as with the small scar between the nostrils in open nose surgery.
Lengths are typical (sample). Bodies differ; your surgeon measures and draws your plan at the second consultation and again on the day.
Book a first consultation
Sixty minutes with the surgeon who would operate. Nothing is booked on the day, and the fee is taken off the surgery fee if you go ahead (sample).
