Twelve questions to take to any consultation

A consultation goes quickly, and the questions you meant to ask often come back on the bus home. Write them down and take the list with you.
Ask about the surgeon: their registration, how often they do this operation, and who operates if they are ill. Ask about the scar: where it will be, how long, and how it changes over a year.
Ask about afterwards: who you call at night, what the most common problems are, and what happens and what it costs if a revision is needed. A good surgeon is glad you asked.
