Send checks
Four checks run before every send, in the same order, every time.
Every send, the same order
Each check answers one question. The send button stays off until all four are answered.
1. Address check
Is this the address I meant, all of it?
2. Network check
Does this address belong to the network I am sending on?
3. The pause
Did this address reach me in a way I trust, without pressure?
4. Test send
Did a small amount arrive before I send the rest?
What a caught look-alike looks like
The ends match, so a quick glance says yes. The middle four groups do not. The app shows this screen and keeps the send button off until you choose the saved contact again.

Groups 3 to 6 do not match. This is not Sam’s address: stop, and ask Sam on a number you already have.
Sample characters, not a real address. Fourfold Wallet (sample) shows every address this way, so you compare all of it, not only the ends.
What the checks cannot do
- Protect your words once someone else has seen them
- Undo a send: payments on a network are final
- Tell you whether a person or a deal is honest
- Keep your coins' value from falling
Crypto-assets can lose most or all of their value, quickly, and payments cannot be reversed. Nothing on this site or in the app is financial advice: we help you send carefully, never tell you what to buy or hold.
Check before you send
Fourfold Wallet (sample) is free on iPhone and Android. It holds your keys on your phone and runs the four checks before every send.
