What to do in the first hour, and when to move to new words.
The first hour
Your coins are not on the phone: they are reached through your words. That is good news if you have the paper.
Lock or wipe the phone
Use your phone maker’s find-my-device service.
Find your paper copy
Both copies, if you have two. Check they are still where you left them.
Restore on a new phone
Install the app and choose ‘Restore from words’.
Move to new words if unsure
If the paper may have been seen, make a new wallet and move everything to it.
What if
The phone is lost, the paper is safe
Restore on a new phone; nothing is lost
The phone and the paper are both gone
Nobody can restore the wallet, including us
Someone may have seen the paper
Make new words and move everything today
The phone was stolen unlocked
Move to new words from another phone as soon as you can
