Six weeks of timber frame: what happens on site

A timber frame goes up fast once the foundations are ready (sample site diary).
Week one is the sole plate and the ground-floor walls; by week three the first floor and the roof trusses are on. The roof is felted and battened in week four, and the windows go in during weeks five and six.
Once the house is watertight, the electricians and plumbers start inside while the cladding goes on outside. We visit every week and send a short note with photos to the client.
