Pumpkins are in, and the far field is open

The pumpkins have had three dry weeks to harden their skins, so the far field opens for picking on Wednesday (sample).
There are big orange carving pumpkins along the track and the eating squash further in: butternut, crown prince and the little striped ones that roast in half an hour.
Wheelbarrows are at the gate. Bring gloves; the stalks are prickly.
