Questions about courses
Can I change my optional modules?
Yes. You choose options each spring for the next year, and you can swap in the first two weeks of a semester if there is space.
Can I change course?
Usually in the first year, if you meet the entry requirements of the new course. Your personal tutor helps you plan it.
How much teaching will I have?
About 12 hours a week in Year 1 for most subjects, more for lab-based courses, and fewer in the final year when your project takes over.
How is my degree classified?
From your Year 2 and Year 3 marks, weighted one to two (sample). Year 1 has to be passed but does not count towards the class.
Ready to apply?
Undergraduates apply through the national admissions service by 29 January (sample). Master’s applications open all year.
