A spring visit to the tea gardens

In April our buyer spent two weeks with the farms that grow our sencha and oolong (sample note).

The first flush was picked a week late after a cold March, which made the leaf slower to grow and, to our taste, sweeter. We bought two lots that you can taste on the table from this week.

Ask at the counter for the photographs; the hillside is even steeper than it looks.
