How holds work
A hold pencils your dates into the diary for free while you get sign-off.
A hold, by example
Two clients, one set of dates. This is what happens in the diary.
Mon 2 Nov
A producer asks for 9 to 27 November. The days are free, so she gets the first hold: a pencilled 1 in every cell.
Wed 4 Nov
A second client asks for the same weeks. He takes a second hold: the cells now show 2.
Mon 9 Nov
The second client is ready to book. I ask the producer to confirm within 24 hours.
Tue 10 Nov
She lets the days go. The second client books with a deposit, and the days go into the diary in ink.
An example (sample). Holds are free and never move ahead of a booking.
The rules in short
- A first hold lasts up to five working days, free
- A second hold moves up when the first is released
- When someone else wants to book, you get 24 hours to confirm or release
- Holds are never sold on or shared with other clients
Have a date in mind?
Tell me the dates and what the film is for. I reply within one working day with the days, the price and whether I can pencil you in (sample).
