Moving a Roman head across town

Faces of the Valley needed a marble head on loan from the town hall (sample story).
The conservator built a foam-lined crate, the van drove at walking pace and two of us walked beside it. It took ninety minutes to move it four hundred metres.
It is now in Gallery 4, at eye level, where it was always meant to be seen.
