What to bring
The papers we ask for, for a first meeting and for your return.
For a first meeting
You do not need everything yet. These four things are enough for us to see which dates are yours and quote a fee.
- Last year's return, if you have one
- Any letters from the tax office
- A rough list of your income this year
- For a business: last year's accounts or bank statements
What to send us
Most returns need the same papers every year. Send what you have; we ask once for anything missing.
For your own return
- Last year's return and any letters from the tax office
- Wage statements (W-2) and 1099 forms
- Interest and dividend statements
- Receipts for deductions you want to claim
- Estimated payments you made, with dates
For your business
- Bank and card statements for the whole year
- Sales and expense records, or access to your bookkeeping
- Payroll reports and year-end forms
- Loan statements and asset purchases
- Last year's business return
Talk it through first
A first meeting takes 30 minutes, at the office or by video, and costs nothing. Bring your last return and any letters.
