What to look for in a monthly marketing report

A report that opens with impressions and clicks is describing activity, not results. Ask for the first page to answer three questions.
Where did enquiries and sales come from, by source and medium? What did each one cost? And what will change next month because of it?
If your report cannot answer those, the problem is usually tracking: links without tags, forms without conversion events, or calls nobody counts.
