Editorial standards
What we publish, what we never publish and how we fix mistakes.
What we publish, and what we never do
The standards every story is checked against before it goes out.
No price talk
We do not publish prices, price charts, targets or predictions, and our pages carry no tickers.
No advice
We explain how things work. We never say what to buy, sell or hold; nothing here is financial advice.
No paid coverage
Projects, exchanges and token issuers cannot pay for stories, reviews or listings.
Holdings declared
Staff do not hold tokens they write about. If that ever changes, the story says so at the top.
Two sources
Claims about a project need two independent sources or the project’s own public documents.
Corrections
Mistakes are fixed and a dated note is added at the end of the story.
Questions readers ask us
If yours is not here, send it to the newsroom.
Can you tell me whether to buy a coin?
No. We explain how things work and what the arguments are. For decisions about your money, talk to a licensed adviser.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Prices change by the second and pull attention away from understanding. Many other sites show them; we explain instead.
Do projects pay you to write about them?
No. We take no paid coverage, and we turn down free tokens and trips.
How do I report a mistake?
Use the contact form and choose ‘A correction’. We reply and, if we were wrong, fix the story with a dated note.
Someone from 'Coinews support' asked for my seed phrase. Is that you?
No. We never ask for seed phrases, passwords or keys. Anyone who does is attempting a scam.
The weekly explainer: one topic, explained in plain words, every Sunday morning (sample).
