Fake support accounts are answering wallet questions

Readers have sent us several messages this month from accounts posing as wallet support (sample notice).

The pattern is always the same: you post a question in public, an account with a helpful name replies, and the link it sends asks for your recovery words to “sync” or “verify” the wallet.

No real support ever needs your words. Contact a company only through its own app or website, and if you have already typed your words somewhere, move any coins to a new wallet with new words today.
