Lemon season on the hill

Ripe lemons hanging on a tree in a sunny orchard

The lemon trees by Limonaia are older than the house’s new roof (sample). They flower in spring, and the fruit is ripe from February.

Out of season, guests find a bag of lemons in the welcome basket. Pick more from the lower trees; the high ones are for the birds.

Our favourite use is the simplest: a slice in a glass of cold water by the pool.
