Morning villa or sunset villa? How to read a sun plan

Every villa page has a plan of the house from above, with north at the top and the July sun drawn around it (sample).

The thick yellow part of the line is when the sun is on the pool. Fico’s starts at 6:30 and ends at 16:00, so breakfast is in the sun and the afternoon swim is in the shade. Limonaia’s runs from 10:00 to 20:30: that is the one for long evenings.

If you are coming with small children, ask for afternoon shade. If you are coming for the sunsets, ask for the west side.
