Geminid meteors: stay up on 13 December

The Geminids are the most reliable meteor shower of the year. Under a dark sky you can see dozens an hour around the peak, on the night of 13 to 14 December.
This year the Moon is a thin crescent, so it will not spoil the show. The club meets at Cutler Ridge from 21:00 (sample). Bring a reclining chair and a sleeping bag: you watch meteors lying down, with no telescope at all.
From town you will still catch the brightest ones. Face away from street lights and look about halfway up the sky.
