Why car batteries give up on the first cold morning

A cold engine needs more power to turn over, and a cold battery has less to give. That is why the first frosty morning is the busiest day of the year for flat batteries.
If the engine has been turning over slowly, ask us for a battery test when the car is in for anything else. It takes two minutes and shows how much life is left.
Short trips do not give the battery time to recharge. A longer drive once a week helps through the winter.
