The test
The theory test first, then the practical test in our car, when your record says you are ready.
Theory test
Multiple-choice questions on the rules of the road and, in some places, a hazard perception clip test. You book it yourself, online.
Practical test
About forty minutes on real roads with an examiner, including a maneuver and a stretch of independent driving. We take you in our car.
Ready for the test
When your record is nearly full, we help you book the practical test at the Springfield test center (sample) and take you in our car.
- Bring your learner's permit and theory test pass, if your state or country asks for one
- We pick you up an hour before for a warm-up drive
- Your instructor can sit in the back during the test if you like
- If it does not go your way, we go through the examiner's sheet together
Questions about the test
When should I book the practical test?
When most rows on your record are at level 4. Dates are often weeks away, and you keep having lessons in the meantime.
Can I use my own car?
Usually yes, if it is road legal and insured for the test. Most learners use ours, because it is the car they learned in.
What if I am not ready on the day?
Tell us early. We help you move the date; your instructor will say honestly if they think you should.
What happens if I do not pass?
We go through the examiner’s sheet together, mark the skills on your record and plan the lessons before the next date.
Book your first lesson
Tell us when suits you and where to pick you up. An instructor calls back within one working day (sample).
