Dashboards: what to use and what to leave alone

Modern dashboards are soft-touch plastics and screens with coatings of their own. A clean microfibre, slightly damp, removes dust and fingerprints without streaks.

Skip the glossy dressings: they reflect into the windscreen and attract dust. If you want protection, choose a matt interior detailer with UV filters.

Screens need a separate dry cloth. Never spray anything straight onto them.
