How to check your prices without losing customers

Start with your twenty best sellers or most common jobs. For each one, add up materials, labour and a fair share of your own time, and compare it with the price.
You will usually find a few items that lose money on every sale, a few that could carry a little more, and many that are fine. Change the first group now and the second group at your next price review.
Tell regular customers before the change, in one plain sentence. Most people accept a fair rise that is explained; they mind surprises.
