The Lamplighter (sample) has stood on the corner of Wharf Street and the towpath since the canal carried coal. Today it is a free house: we choose every beer, and the kitchen cooks everything from scratch.
Free house, local kitchen
Free house means no brewery owns us, so the bar changes with the seasons and with what the small breweries around Springfield are making (sample).
The kitchen buys from the market on Wharf Street and two farms within twenty miles. The menu is short so that it can change often.
Behind the bar and the pass
Ask for any of us by name; most nights at least two of us are in.
